Steel string guitars

My favorite steel string guitar is a delicate, light instrument which plays tonefully also in small volumes. Attack is banjo-like, trebles are versatile and there’s not too much bass to mess with the balance.

Size of the body affects a lot to the outcome. In my collection guitars are quite small from classic model to parlour guitars.

If I had to choose between tone and volume, I’d go with the first. There can be plenty of volume in a light instrument tough.

Back and side material is usually Indian rosewood or mahogany. Rosewood is rich of overtones and mahogany gives the tone more of a dry touch. Other woods are also used, please inquire.

G-00

This instrument is based on an American L-00 model from 1930s. Relatively small guitars neck joint is at 14th fret. Trebles and bass are well balanced and the tone is very dynamic, bluesy.

Compared to the original L-00, my model is more delicate. Back and top curves are less steep and their fitting to the sides is more accurate. This way I’ve been able to remove some extra tension from the construction and get a more open tone.
